1. How do you keep your rates so low? How can your hire cars be that much cheaper?
Bayswater Car Rental has a low cost business model. We have 2,500 vehicles on fleet from only 5 locations (not 25). We do not operate from horrendously expensive Airport depots. From the very start, over 50 years ago, Bayswater Car Rental was structured to keep costs low. Our locations are convenient but not extraordinarily expensive. Our systems are as simple as possible. We are very good at taking excellent care of our cars cost-effectively. We "bulk buy" huge numbers of Corollas from Toyota each year to achieve further savings. 3. How easy is it to get to Bayswater Car Rental from the airport?
From Perth Airport
Taxi: Approximately $15 (5 minutes to Bayswater office)
From Sydney Airport
A Great Value FREE Inclusion. We offer a free shuttle from Sydney Airport to our office. (This is for Sydney only.)
Sydney City Shuttle – Maximum 2 free fares – Every 30 minutes – Clients pay for their own return to the Airport. (shuttle $12, or taxi). There are meeting points at all terminals.
All you have to do is collect your luggage, telephone 9661 1170 and proceed to meeting point. (To be sure you do not have to pay, you must have with you a printed copy of the Sydney Airport Shuttle print-friendly page.)
Do not pay the driver. Bayswater has pre-paid vouchers to hand to the shuttle driver on arrival at our office.
If you are taking a taxi for the short trip to or from Sydney Airport, you might expect to pay between $20 and $30, depending on conditions and traffic.

4. Can we return the car after hours?
Yes
In Perth, simply park and lock the car in our parking area and put the key in the "key drop" provided.
In Sydney park and lock the car in our car-park at the rear of our building (enter from Forbes St) and put the key in the secure "key drop box" attached to our building.
Note: You will be charged until the next working day.
5. Do you provide baby seats?
We do not supply baby seats, but all our cars have the required fittings.
In Sydney, Kids Rentals (phone 0414 894 666) will drop baby seats, capsules and boosters to our office in advance of your rental.
In Perth, The following firms will drop baby seats at our offices in advance of your collection:

6. Do you do one-way rentals?
We do not do one-way rentals. All cars must be returned to the same office as collected.

7. What about personal privacy and online security?
We do not release, trade, or sell your personal details to any person or organization (other than to Police Agencies when directed by Law). Our online reservation service is located on a secure server that uses SSL encrypting technology.
8. We've seen or heard of Bayswater Car Rental being referred to as 'No Birds' car rental. What does that mean? Why 'no birds'?
We are asked this question several times a day. People have offered theories such as:
- no worries (a real Aussie expression, as in 'no worries, mate')
- no bird poo on the cars
- no hassles
- no women allowed to drive our cars (as if!)
- no 'lemons'
- 'avis' is Latin for birds therefore "no birds"
This is the real story...
30 years ago the large (and expensive) Rental Car Companies used young women to advertise their brands and deliver cars to clients. With our cut price rates we could never afford to offer these services, so we light heartedly used the tag "…no birds" to demonstrate our point of difference. Therefore, after all these years, having seen the logo on hundreds of cars over the years, many people know us as No Birds Car Rental.
