What do I pay if the car is damaged?
We have included Damage Reduction in your quote. (Unlike other Rental Companies) Your Damage Responsibility is $250 if all nominated drivers are over 25 and $500 if any nominated driver is 21 – 24, per Rental Agreement Conditions.
Taxes
GST is included in all rates and quotes.
Toll-roads & E-Tags
An E-Tag is essential to prevent penalties for driving in Sydney’s multitude of Toll-roads. We are the first Rental Company to provide E-Tags to all our rental cars (at no extra cost). (They also work on Brisbane and Melbourne Toll-roads). On return, we simply charge you for the Tolls accumulated during your rental.
Damage Waiver – Protection Package
We have included it. We have already reduced your Damage Responsibility to $250 ($500 for 21 – 24 year olds). Beware; many cheap car rental quotations have a huge Damage Responsibility ($2,750). At their counter they charge an extra $20 day to get similar Damage Responsibility to ours.
Vehicle Registration Recovery Fee
We do not charge it. Beware; many other Rental Companies do not include it in their quotations, then at their counter they charge an extra ±$5 day for this outrageous fee.
Airport Concession Fee Recovery
We do not charge it. Beware; many Rental Companies at the Airport do not include it in their quotations, then at their counter they charge an extra ±$10 day for this.
Getting to us from Sydney Airport
Taxi:
±$30 (20 minutes)
KST Airporter Shuttle:
$20 return or $12 one-way. They have stops outside each terminal, run every 30 minutes
and will drop you to our door.
Trains:
±$20 one-way. From Airport terminal to Town Hall, then change to Kings Cross.
What do I need to Rent?
The Renter needs a full licence (Australian or International) and Visa or Mastercard. They need to be in the same name. i.e. We cannot accept one persons licence with another persons Visa or Mastercard.
Can I drive Interstate?
Our quoted rates are for driving within N.S.W. & A.C.T. A $70 once-off fee extends usage to Brisbane Melbourne & Adelaide. Cars must be returned back to our Sydney Office.
What deposit is needed?
On collection we charge the Renter’s Visa or Mastercard a $250 deposit plus the Rental Charges. ($500 deposit for 21 – 24 year olds). When the car is returned undamaged, we refund the deposit back to the Visa or Mastercard.
Can I drive to the snow?
Corolla Sedan is allowed to be driven above the snow-line (i.e. Thredbo & Perisher) at no extra cost. Corolla Hatch are not allowed above the snow-line..

Cars can only be rented during opening hours.
After- Hour Returns
Park and lock the car in our car-park at the rear of our building (enter from Forbes St), put the key in the secure "key drop box" attached to our building. Note: You will be charged until the next working day.
Area of use
Additional Drivers
Additional Drivers can be nominated by the Renter. You will need their full name, date of birth., address, Licence No. & Licence expiry. A once-off cost of $10 per additional driver applies.
Petrol
We ask you to refuel the car back to the starting level. Shortages are charged at $1.90L.
Baby Seats
We do not supply baby seats, but all our cars have the required fittings. Kids Rentals (ph. 0414 894 666) will drop baby seats, capsules and boosters to our office in advance of your rental.
One – Way
All cars must be returned to the same office as collected. We do not do one – way rentals.
Breakdowns
All cars are covered Australia-wide by Toyota New Car Warranty. This entitles our cars to free warranty repairs at any Toyota Dealership. Additionally, all our cars have 24 hour NRMA Roadside Service Membership. (Call-out fees are charged for human error. i.e. lights-left-on & key lock out).
Unpaid Parking Tickets & Traffic Infringements
A $20 administration fee is charged for each Infringement. We are required by law to supply at Statutory Declaration with the Renter’s details to the Parking/Traffic Authorities. If we have forwarded you a copy of a Speeding Camera or Traffic Light Camera Infringement, you will need to wait until the Authority reissues it in your name before you can pay the fine (±4 weeks).
Personal Privacy Guarantee
We do not release, trade, or sell your personal details to any person or organization (other than to Police Agencies when directed by Law). Our online reservation service is located on a secure server that uses SSL encrypting technology.
"... no birds" - What does it mean?
Our staff are all asked this question several times a day. Our clients often have their own theories such as:
- no worries
- no bird poo on the cars
- no hassles
- no women allowed to drive our cars
- no lemons
- Avis is apparently Latin for birds therefore "no birds"
The truth is this:
30 years ago the large (and expensive) Rental Companies used young women to advertise
their brands and deliver cars to clients at their office/hotel/home/airport. With
our cut price rates we could never afford to offer these services, so we light heartily
used the tag “…no birds” to demonstrate our point of difference. Nowadays as many
people know us as No Birds Car Rental as Bayswater Car Rental.
